This thing called pregnancy

When my wife and I got married newly, we were eagerly waiting for pregnancy to come. Now that it is finally here, the pregnancy is altering our lives speedily. In fact, it’s like the pregnancy is taking over the ruler-ship from me. Never been in my shoes? I wouldn’t know what to say about you. Probably, you’re not a pregnant father or you’re not caring or both. Sorry about that. I don’t mean any insult.

Back to my tale. Just last week, I had to pay (more) for a taxi to take us to and fro an outing because the law in my area forbids an Okada to carry a pregnant woman. Oh, by the way, Okada is what we call bike in my area. And yesterday, I got a list of foods to eat and avoid during pregnancy. You won’t believe this. What’s my concern? Ha-ah so you don’t know that I may have to adjust to a new diet in order to be an encouragement and support for my wife with our pregnancy. Anyway, there’s good news. I don’t take some of the things listed and I have told her to limit the foods in the kitchen to the foods that are allowed during pregnancy. The next time we go shopping, we’ll do the same.
During pregnancy, a woman (and a caring pregnant father) should avoid:
Some of the allowed foods are:
Can you now see? Because of this pregnancy, I had to synchronize my work out times with my wife’s. I do things for and with her to make the burden lighter which includes cooking. And now because of this pregnancy again, I need to avoid some foods which include some of my favorites.
Pregnancy is a good thing especially if you have time and are caring. It brings you closer to your wife, it challenges your romance, tests your patience and gives this deep down joy of fatherhood. Yet some people say it’s a disease (a medical condition) because it requires medical attention. Some say it is a parasite but for me it is a life in a life. I enjoy seeing all the changes it brings to me my wife and our home.
